Oath, the digital content behemoth  that used to be AOL and Huffington Post, was bought by Verizon a year ago and recently took a valuation write-down from $6 billion to $200 million. Yes. True story. But this detail by Digiday on why Oath failed, is a story of soul-less salesmanship, and a total detachment from audience or content. Big digital content sucks. I don’t know why anyone would ever want to work there.
