Dawn of Everything

I learned more reading “The Dawn of Everything: A New History of Humanity” by David Graeber and David Wengrow than I have from any book since graduate school. Using recent archeology and anthropology discoveries, it retells the story who what life was like in pre-Columbian America, exactly how and why farming came about, and suggests that large, city-sized, non-hierarchical societies were common until about five thousand years ago.
